National Marriage Week, February 7–14, and World Marriage Day on Sunday, February 8, provide an opportunity to celebrate Christian marriage and to renew our commitment to building a culture of life and love. These observances honor husbands and wives as the foundation of the family and the basic unit of society, while highlighting the faithfulness, sacrifices, and daily joys of married life. They also invite couples to live fully the sacrament they have received, strengthening marriage and family life for the good of the Church and the wider community.
