Parishes across Maine offer community meals, soup kitchens, and food pantries to help individuals and families access the food they need. These resources are available to people of all faiths.

Camden Camden Area Christian Food Pantry 128 Mount Battie Street Tuesdays, 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.; Thursdays, 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. The food pantry is a joint ministry of Our Lady of Good Hope Church, St. Thomas Episcopal Church, First Congregational Church, Chestnut Street Baptist Church, and John Street United Methodist Church.

Farmington St. Joseph Nutrition Center Corner of Quebec and Middle streets, across from St. Joseph Church Takeout meals are served Tuesdays from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Meals are available in an on-site refrigerator Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. A Blessing Box in front of the building provides nonperishable food 24/7 and offers an opportunity to donate for those who have the means. St. Rose of Lima Food Assistance 1 Church Street Meals are available in a self-serve refrigerator inside the entryway, accessible from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. A Blessing Box facing the street in front of the building provides food for those who need it and offers an opportunity to donate for those who have the means. Lewiston Cross the Street Ministry 120 Park Street Monday through Friday around 11 a.m. and Saturday around 8:30 a.m., the Prince of Peace Parish food truck leaves Holy Family Church and parks beside Kennedy Park. Volunteers from Cross the Street Ministry meet with and minister to people experiencing homelessness with warmth, food, and dignity.

In addition, Catholic Charities Maine’s Food Bank, supported by the annual Catholic Appeal, provides food assistance to tens of thousands of people in Aroostook County and beyond through nearly 30 food pantries.
St. Anthony of Padua Parish in Gorham, Westbrook, and Windham supplies 300 bagged lunches for local people experiencing homelessness every Tuesday.
Many parishes also host weekly and monthly lunches for seniors and offer food assistance on special occasions, including Thanksgiving and Christmas baskets.
