Bishop Ruggieri will celebrate Mass for the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

In celebration of the feast day, a Mass will be held at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church in Presque Isle.

This feast commemorates the finding of the relic of the True Cross by St. Helena in 326 and the building of the first churches in Jerusalem by St. Constantine.

The Feast of St. Francis of Assisi is celebrated each year on October 4, which also marks the conclusion of the Season of Creation. The Season of Creation begins with the World Day of Prayer for the Season of Creation on September 1.

On the Feast Day of St. Francis of Assisi, all are invited to join Bishop James Ruggieri and the Franciscan community for a Mass at the St. Anthony Franciscan Monastery.
